Global Design Project #142 – Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday!

Over the weekend, I spent some time in my studio listening to my music and creating. It felt so good to just stamp after a VERY long week. Stamp and music is very therapeutic for me and I’m glad that I finally had sometime to just kick back and relax. I decided to play along with this weeks challenge over at Global Design Project. This week the #GDP142 was a sketch challenge. I love sketches as they are a puzzle just waiting to be solve with paper, inks and stamps!
#GDP142

Sitting on my desk was the Broadway Bound suite and I thought it would be fun to create a project using this sketch with those products. I had to admit when I saw this Product Bundle on display at Onstage, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I love the colour combination, the bold patterns and the marquee signs. This is ONE suite that I would suggest you add to your collection!

#GDP142 Sketch Challenge created with Broadway Bound Suite.

When designing my card, I pulled the colour combination from the Designer Series Paper. This paper is a specialty paper as it has gold foil on one side of the pattern paper and bold prints on the other.

My colour combination is:

Birthdays are about party hats, balloons, cake and ice cream and the Broadway Birthday suite captures all those images in that bundle. This bundle features a Photopolymer Stamp Set and matching Broadway Lights Framelits. All you have to do is stamp the images and cut them out with the Big Shot machine and matching framelit. Now that is a match made in heaven!!!

Product Bundle of the Week

This week I will be featuring the Broadway Birthday bundle in my Facebook Live on Saturday. I will be sharing two projects that you can create to give to family and friends. I can’t wait to share those project with you. Plus all week I will be sharing a few other projects that I have made with this fun suite!

Now it’s your turn to play along with this fun sketch. I will be filing this one away for future projects. Head over to the Global Design Project Blog to view all the other samples made with this fun sketch!

Global Design Project #140

Hello,

Over the weekend, I spend sometime in my studio playing with new goodies. Boy, did it feel good! I decided to check out some online challenges and came across this one over at Global Design Project.

This weeks challenge was to CASE A DESIGNER and the designer was Brian King. Brian is an amazing stamper. He loves clean and simple with layers! Plus he has an eye for colour and each project represents his creative style!

CASING THE DESIGNER, you have the choice to CASE the layout, the stamp set, the images, the colours or anything you like from the design.

I chose to go with the layout. I really like how clean and simple it was. For my stamp set focus, I chose to play with the new Lilypad Lake Bundle. This bundle is perfect for birthdays, thinking of you, congrats and any other celebration you need a project for.

I used the colour combination of Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade. These colour just POP and scream summer fun to me! I had vision of the sailboats off in the distance as you sat on the beach relaxing and chilling.

I want to create a beach scene so I stamped the sun image in Memento Ink and then using a sponge dauber I colour in the middle of the sun. I actually went outside the Sun so it looked sun rays around the sun. Then I add the birds from the Hightide stamp set as you can’t be at the beach without see tons of birds flying in the air!

My water was stamped with Night of Navy ink and I coloured the boats with Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight markers. The best part about the boats is there is a matching framelits, so all you have to do is stamp and cut out with a Big Shot machine and the Lakeside framelits.

Would you like to see what other stampers did with this challenge. Then head over to the Global Design Project Gallery to see how they CASE THE DESIGNER – BRIAN KING.

You can order these supplies too! You’ll find all of these Stampin’ Up! supplies in my ONLINE  STAMPIN’ UP! STORE by clicking on all of the photo’s below.

Global Design Project 132- CASE the Designer

Hello,

I finally had a chance to play along with this week’s Global Design Project challenge. This weeks challenge was to CASE the Designer.

Global Design Project - CASE the Designer

This week they are CASING a beautiful project by their Design Team Member, Stesha Bloodhart, Stesha does amazing work and I’m excited to CASE one her projects. I also know when I’m looking at her project on social media, as she has unique style.

So with CASING a Designer, you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colours, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

Lemon Zest Bundle By Stampin' Up! CASING the Designer - Global Designer Project 132

I decided to CASE the layout of the card with a group of images near the bottom of the card. I had a few DL ask me what they could do with this bundle called Lemon Zest by Stampin’ Up! so I thought it would be fun to create a project with this set to show them.

Global Design Project 132 - CASE the Designer - I used Lemon Zest to create my project

I decided to start with a background wash that was created with my Aqua Painter and Daffodil Delight ink. Once it was dried, I then added some black fleck marks made with a Black Marker. Once I was done, I stamped my greeting and created the cluster of lemon near the bottom. I did add a little bit of Wink of Stella to lemon to give it a bit of shine.

The cluster of lemon was really easy to create especially when you are using the Lemon Zest Bundle by Stampin’ Up! The best part about the bundle is the you save 10% when you purchase it this way. One of the things that I LOVE about bundles is that you can stamp the image and punch it out with the coordinating punch.

So will you play along with this week challenge over at Global Design ProjectWant to see how other CASE the designer,  then head to the Global Design Blog to check out the gallery.

You can order these supplies too! You’ll find all of these Stampin’ Up! supplies in my ONLINE  STAMPIN’ UP! STORE by clicking on all of the photo’s below.

Global Design Project 115- Theme Challenge

Happy Monday!!

I finally had a chance to sit down and stamp in my room yesterday. I can’t tell you the last time that I did that and the best part it was just for fun. No prepping of classes, just playing with inks, stamps and paper.

I decided to try last week’s Global Design Project 115 challenge. Last week the challenge was to create a project about sharing the JOY of Christmas and showcasing things that makes you happy at this time of year!

Season Like Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set

One of the things that makes me happy at this time of year is seeing all the beautiful decoration that adores tree’s at this time of year. I love browsing all the different ornaments on the tree’s in the stores and even the ones that decorate tree’s outside.

Season like Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set

When creating my project today, I used the gorgeous stamp set called Season like Christmas Photopolymer stamp set. The best thing about this stamp set is its’ a Two step stamping and the final stamp image is gorgeous. Make it look like a real Christmas Tree!!!

Great News this stamp set is part of the Last Chance List that is available till Jan 2, 2018. The Sad news, that it won’t be available after that, so if this stamp set has been on your wish list, you might want to add to your collection before they are leave us for good!

You can order these supplies too! You’ll find all of these Stampin’ Up! supplies in my ONLINE  STAMPIN’ UP! STORE by clicking on all of the photo’s below.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!!!

Global Design Project 093

Hello,

It's a big day in our house today as we celebrate Emily's 19th birthday. It's a little bit bittersweet, we are excited to celebrate this milestone with her but we are also sad that Corrie is not here to see it. I know that he is here in spirit with us as we celebrate this big day!!

As I was making her birthday card, I turned to this week's Global Design Project 093 challenge which happens to be a colour challenge!! I love colour challenges as the thinking is already done for you, you just need to create the project. And this week's colours are ONE of my favourite colour combinations!!

GDP093_Colour_Challenge

On my desk was the Wood Words stamp set, so I challenged myself to create a card with this set. I'm excited to share my card with you and a great little trick on creating a gift card holder inside your card!!

IMG_7155

Using the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot machine, I embossed the word "Celebrate" on a piece of Whisper White card stock. Using the Circle image from the Wood Words stamp set, I randomly stamped Berry Burst circles on the Celebrate piece of card stock. While doing this, it helps to create the de-embossed look which create the word to stand out more!!!

IMG_7158

When first looking at my card, it looked like a normal card front, but I added an element of surprise to it. I created a belly band around my card. This adds a bit of fun to the card as to open the card, you have to pull off the belly band!!

My belly band was created with 2 1/2 by 11 piece of Pool Party card stock. I just placed my strip around my card and fold it to create the belly band. I secure the two end pieces with a piece of fast fuse adhesive!

IMG_7157

For the inside, I used the Wood Crate Framelit to create a pocket to hold a gift card. When I was looking at the little slots on the side of the crate, I thought that a gift card might fit into it, and when I tried it out, I was like bonus! I love when you can find other ways to use your products!!

IMG_7159

To create the gift card holder, cut out a wood crate using a Big Shot machine and the Wood Crate Framelit. Then using a pair of paper snips, cut off the tabs and the side tab. This will leave you with the big piece with the slot in it. Adhere to your card stock, but remember to only adhere the sides as you want the gift card to be able to slide in and out of the slots!

I can't wait to see how Emily likes her card tonight!! Now it's your turn to try this fun and fresh colour combination. You can head over the Global Design Project page to check out gallery to see how other stamper's used this colour challenge in their projects!!

I have listed all the supplies that I have used for you at the bottom of this post, and the best part is that you can either click on the clickable images, or the supply list PDF.
