One of the things that I have been working on when I have spare time in my studio is my Scrapbook Albums. I have been going back and forth as to what size of album that I wanted to use. Last year, I documented Project Life weekly in a 6 by 8 album. I’m still working on this but I’m slowly getting caught up.
This year, I have decided to go back to 12 by 12 scrapbook layouts so that I can use the pages that we are creating in our Scrapbook Club each month. I have decided to use my monthly pages in my albums and then following those pages would be my favourite pictures from that month. I’m excited to say so far, I’m caught up to date. I’m hoping that continues for the rest of the year.
At Christmas, we had a new family picture done and I wanted to document it in our story. I can’t STRESS how important it is to capture your memories and document them. When love ones pass away, these pictures become treasures and having those pictures to look at sure helps you get through those tough days.

One of my popular class each month is my Scrapbook Club and class. Each month we create a 12 by 12 traditional layout and a 12 by 12 pocket page. I love mixing these together as it’s creates a great way to tell your story. I have been a huge fan of documenting our memories over the years. Trust me when a love one passes away, these memories become treasures and they are what helps you get through those tough days.
This was the layout that we created last month using the Snowflake Showcase products. Sadly, these product have retired but you still can get everything else that is showcased on this page.
I can’ t wait to fill this layout with pictures from this holiday season! I LOVE the colour combination of Black, Cherry Cobbler, Grey Granite and White.

Last month at our Memory Keeping Club, I wanted to show my stampers how to use the new Embossing Paste. First of all, I love this new paste!! It's so simply and easy to use that honestly you can't stop using it!!
When designing my page, I wanted to show them a few techniques that they could use on their pages. First we did the marble technique. I wanted to create the look of sticks drag across the sand at the beach. Then, we add some random stamping using the Touches of Textures stamp set. We used the one that looks like sand! Next, we added our embossing paste. We add a few drops of the Crumb Cake reinker to the Embossing Paste to tint the paste a light colour. I wanted it to look like sand on the page.
Once our background was done we started on the next part which was the fence. Using the Classic Label punch and the Wood Texture Designer Series Paper, we cut out post for our fence. Actually one 6 by 6 sheet was the right amount to create the fence across the page. Of course we had to add some Linen Thread to make it look like rope hanging on the fence. The finishing touches was the birds on the fence and the seashell off to the side.
My stampers LOVED this page and learning a little bit of mixed media! They loved it so much that they want another fun technique this month!!
We also create one pocket page to go with our 12 by 12 traditional page. This is the perfect mixed for those that loved the hands on with the traditional pages along with the quick easy with the pocket page!!
I keep this page simply as I knew it would take a little longer to create the 12 by 12 traditional page. On this page, we used the following stamp set: Touches of Texture, So Many Shells, and Colourful Seasons!
I can't stress how important it is to take picture of your daily activities and to get them into album and not on your phone. The pictures you take now will tell stories later for generation to come. You want to make sure you document those chapter in your lives, not just the milestones but those little moments too!
I have listed all the supplies that I have used for you at the bottom of this post, and the best part is that you can either click on the clickable images, or the supply list PDF.

My project today is one that I made back in February for my Memory Keeping Club. As I was looking for a sketch to create my page from, I came across one on Pinterest. As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew the picture that I wanted to use. I absolutely LOVE these picture of Corrie. If you knew my husband you know that he had infectious smile that lite up the room when he was in it. I have had so many tell me how much they miss that smile and his laugh!! I know the girls and I miss it more and more every day.
Once I was finished with this page, I fell in LOVE with it so much that I'm going to hang it in my studio! I know that our angel is with us each and every day, but seeing his smile each day us help get through this stormy sea!!
Tips and Tricks on my layout….
- Carried Away is the Designe Series Paper, this was one of the products that you can earn for FREE during Sale a Bration
- I used the Lift me Up Bundle ( stamp set and matching framelits)
- My colours are Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach, Mint Macaroon and Watermelon Wonder
- I used the Layered Letters Alphabet and Letters for you stamp sets
I thought I could write this post without tears, but nope..I have tears running down my face. For the girls and I seeing pictures of Corrie daily helps us get through this stormy sea! They make us smile as we know he is with us each move we make..we have a special guardian angel watching us!!
Thanks for all the cards, emails, visit, messages these last few months, we really appreciate it!!
We are still going strong here at our annual Scrap and Crop Weekend Retreat!! The ladies have been very busy working on there projects and I have seen some beautiful scrapbook layouts created this weekend. Tons of inspiration for sure in this room!!
This year for my make and take, I decided that I wanted to create a page for Halloween. I knew that most of the ladies would be taking pictures next weekend of their family and friends celebrating this fun occasio and I wanted to give them a head start on their documenting.
While on Pinterest, I came across a page that Erica Cerwin had done a few years ago, and I love the basic layout and thought it would be perfect for my page as beginning place to start!! Thanks for the inspiration Erica!!
I used the Envelope Punch board to create an a little envelope that would be the perfect place to hold their journaling card. I also used the new Seasonal Stencils and Whisper White craft ink to create a little mask in the background. I thought it added a little spooky to the page!
The following products were used on my page today:
- Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper
- Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape
- Envelope Punch Board
- Seasonal Stencils
- Spooky Fun Bundle
- Letters for you Bundle
- Black, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Whisper White cardstock
