Butterfly Gala Friendship Card

Hello,

It’s been very cold and snowy here, and I’m dreaming of spring and warm weather. This set is perfect reminder of that. I LOVE the Butterfly Gala Bundle and so did all of you. It was so popular that the Butterfly punch is on the non – order list. But good news, is that Stampin’ Up! is expecting a shipment soon.

The layout on this card is one that you can easily switch out for colour and theme. I was actually inspired by a similar card on Pinterest and I decided to switch out the colour theme to the gorgeous Balmy Blue.

I have listed all the supplies that I used on this project below for you so you can recreate this project.

Global Désign Project 178 – Sketch Challenge

Hello,

Yesterday, I spent some time in my studio creating which is good for the soul. I was working with the Piece of Cake bundle and need a sketch to get the creative mojo flowing. I decided to head over to the Global Designs Project blog to see what they had and lucky me this week was a sketch challenge.

I love sketch challenges as it’s like a puzzle just waiting to be solved. The only thing is that our puzzle pieces are ink, paper and stamps.

When I saw the elements in the bottom right hand corner of the sketch, I knew it would be perfect fit for my cake stand and cake. My cake stand was stamped in Memento Ink onto a piece of Melon Mambo card stock and punch out with the cake builder punch. The cake was stamped in Memento ink onto a piece of scrap white. I coloured my image with Bermuda Bay, Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and punch it out with the Cake Builder Punch and pop it up onto my cake stand.

I chose Bright colours for my project as it’s been so cloudy and snowy here. But using these colours in my studio sure helped to brighten my day!! My colour combination is Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo and Whisper White. Just looking at these colours make me happy!

Would you like to play along with this week’s sketch?  Head over to the Global Design Project Blog to see others used this sketch to create their projects.

Part of My Story Scrapbook Page

Hello,

One of the things that I have been working on when I have spare time in my studio is my Scrapbook Albums. I have been going back and forth as to what size of album that I wanted to use. Last year, I documented Project Life weekly in a 6 by 8 album. I’m still working on this but I’m slowly getting caught up.

This year, I have decided to go back to 12 by 12 scrapbook layouts so that I can use the pages that we are creating in our Scrapbook Club each month. I have decided to use my monthly pages in my albums and then following those pages would be my favourite pictures from that month. I’m excited to say so far, I’m caught up to date. I’m hoping that continues for the rest of the year.

At Christmas, we had a new family picture done and I wanted to document it in our story. I can’t STRESS how important it is to capture your memories and document them. When love ones pass away, these pictures become treasures and having those pictures to look at sure helps you get through those tough days.

Details on my page:

  • I used the stamp set Swirly Frames and Part of my Story.
  • My Designer Series Paper was All my Love
  • Colours: Smoky Slate, Lovely Lipstick, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White
  • Bundle: Meant to Be
  • Embossing Folder – Lace
